Welcome to Mill House & Hare Lodge
Mill House is a beautiful 16th century cottage, nestled by the river Coquet, providing a tranquil and stunning place to escape. Formerly part of The Guyzance Hall Estate, it was home to the mill manager and his family until the mid 1900’s. A superior self catering accommodation providing a warm welcome.
Close to the main North-South East Coast train line, local station being Alnmouth, the stunning beaches and castles of the Northumberland coast are a 15 minute drive. The market towns of Alnwick, Morpeth and Rothbury are within 20 minutes. Golf courses to be played at Alnmouth, Warkworth, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh. Wonderful cycling and walking routes; taking you to the coast and it’s castles, north to Holy Island or inland and the Cheviot Hills.
Fabulous hostess, beautiful home & wonderful food. A little secret gem that should not be so secret…Glenda – London
The area of Guyzance is unspoilt, with a wealth of wildlife and fauna. Sit in one of the peaceful corners of the garden listening to fish leaping in the river, watch Buzzards flying overhead and gaze at the dark starry sky at night…then curl up in front of the log burner in the resident’s snug with a book or a DVD.
We have been awarded as ‘Dark Sky Friendly’ and a ‘Dark Sky Stay & Gaze’ destination by Northumberland Tourism. We were also delighted to be awarded Silver B&B of the Year in the Northumberland Tourism Awards!
We are walker and cyclist friendly – we have a secure bike lock-up and cleaning area with many routes available to explore straight out of our front door. Our friends at Savvy Cycling have provided some inspiration with this fantastic Coast and Castles Cycle Route
